The Wings Appeal
What can be more archetypically British than a cup of tea and chat with friends? The RAF Association (RAFA) is inviting everyone to have a BREW FOR THE FEW and raise funds for the Wing Appeal. To be held on 1st September 2007 at 15.00 to 16.30hrs at the Albatross Club all are welcome, donations will be gratefully received.
This is an ideal opportunity to get involved, reminisce about your time of service and make a huge difference to the Wing Appeal. If just 4% of Air Mail readers held such an event which each raised £50 an extra £140,000 would be raised for the Appeal.
It really is a simple idea, all you need to do is invite a few friends, family or work colleagues, to pop round for a cuppa and perhaps a piece of cake and ask them to make a donation to The Wings Appeal.

The Wings Appeal was started to raise funds for the Welfare of all members of the RAF, both past and present, and their families.
Membership of the RAFA is not necessary and all branches have a Welfare Officer to dispense care when and where it is needed. This includes grants normally funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund and residential care provided in one of the Association's homes.

This year’s Wings Appeal
Total has exceeded 2005 by over £1,100 ! This is excellent, especially as 2006 has been the
60th Anniversary of the Branch. We have now
raised £567,254 since the appeal started in 1951.
Many thanks to ALL who helped in any way.
Grateful thanks to John Dowling and the Bexhill
Observer for the wonderful support they gave us
over the past year. The total amount raised was £11,548.42. The largest sum was from the RAF
Band concert £2,780.77. The rest has come from
raffles, collections, fairs, draws. 150 club, donations,
and more.
The Bexhill branch have always given excellent support to the Wings Appeal and in 55 years have raised over £ 555,700 for the Wings Appeal |
